塞拉利昂面临严峻的经济和医疗挑战，高血压在当地人口中日益普遍，传统医疗资源难以满足需求。本随机对照试验旨在评估针灸作为辅助疗法在塞拉利昂高血压管理中的有效性，以应对资源匮乏地区的治疗困境。研究希望为低收入国家的慢性病管理提供替代方案，并改善患者的生活质量和心血管健康。

Objectives of Study：

Sierra Leone faces significant economic and healthcare challenges with hypertension becoming increasingly prevalent among the population and limited medical resources to meet this demand. This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture as an adjunct therapy for hypertension management in Sierra Leone addressing the treatment needs in resource-limited settings. The study seeks to offer an alternative approach for chronic disease management in low-income countries with the potential to improve patients' quality of life and cardiovascular health.

药物成份或治疗方案详述：

干预组为使用常规体针针刺对应多穴位配伍 ，对照组为无关穴位针刺，治疗频率及周期为干预时长单次20分钟，每周2次，治疗6周，共计12次。治疗人员为已获取针灸治疗师专科培训取得结业证书并经针灸操作标准化及操作手法考核通过人员。

Description for medicine or protocol of treatment in detail：

The intervention group will receive conventional body acupuncture applied to multiple related acupoints in combination while the control group will undergo acupuncture at unrelated acupoints. Treatment Frequency and Duration: Duration per Session: 20 minutes Frequency: Twice a weekTotal Treatment Period: 6 weeks (12 sessions in total)The treatments will be administered by certified acupuncture practitioners who have completed specialized acupuncture training and passed standardized practice and technique assessments.

纳入标准：

无法负担药品支出和之前从未使用降压药的确诊1级和2级高血压患者（接受针灸治疗期间确定不会服用高血压药物） ，年龄要求35-60岁，男女不限。

Inclusion criteria

Patients diagnosed with grade 1 and grade 2 hypertension who cannot afford medication and have never used antihypertensive drugs will be included in the study (it will be confirmed that they will not take antihypertensive medications during the acupuncture treatment). The age requirement for participants is 35 to 60 years and both males and females are eligible.

排除标准：

妊娠高血压患者； 通过体格检查和基本实验室检测，明显因其他疾病导致的继发性高血压患者； 过度肥胖和过度消瘦的患者（BMI>30或<15）； HIV或疟疾感染者； 已知癌症或寿命预计小于12个月患者。

Exclusion criteria：

Patients with gestational hypertension; Patients with secondary hypertension clearly caused by other diseases as determined through physical examination and basic laboratory tests; Patients who are excessively obese or excessively underweight (BMI > 30 or < 15); Individuals infected with HIV or malaria; Patients with known cancer or an estimated lifespan of less than 12 months.
