Objectives of Study：

Surgical site infection (SSI) is one of the most common complications after cesarean delivery (CD). However, there is no standard protocol for the treatment of CD-related SSI in the clinic. In China, rhubarb combined with mirabilite is considered efficient in reducing swelling and pain after trauma. However, no research has assessed its effect on obstetric SSI. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of rhubarb and mirabilite treatment on SSI in the clinic by performing a randomized controlled trial.

Inclusion criteria

(1) single and term pregnancies, (2) failed vaginal labor (OS 10 cm), and (4) CD performed due to fetal head descent.

The exclusion criteria were as follows: (1) gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) or (2) hypertension or other complications. All participants provided written informed consent.
